Discover the iconic unit piloted by Shinji Ikari with this RG Evangelion Unit-01 model kit from Bandai Spirits. The first release in the Real Grade line dedicated to Evangelion, the EVA-01 features a specially developed design to reproduce the organic movements and unique silhouette of the Evangelions.
The kit directly reproduces the iconic purple, green, black, and orange color scheme of Unit-01 thanks to the different plastic colors. The advanced part separation allows for a highly detailed finish right out of the box, with no need for painting to reproduce the main colors of the model.
Unlike traditional Mobile Suits, the Evangelion has a morphology similar to that of a human body. Bandai Spirits has therefore developed a specific articulated internal structure: the chest, abdomen, and back elements follow the movements when the EVA bends or raises its head sharply.
The knees also feature a mechanism that allows the internal elements to retract during flexion to limit interference between armor parts. The shoulders, neck, and hips also use articulated systems designed to reproduce natural and dynamic poses, including Unit-01's famous crouching stance.
Numerous accessories are included to vary the scenes, notably the Palette Rifle, two representations of the Progressive Knife, an umbilical cable, and a wide selection of interchangeable hands. The Entry Plug is also reproduced as a separate part.

Technical Specifications
The structure of the RG Evangelion Unit-01 was designed to simulate the functioning of a humanoid body. The chest, abdomen, and back parts move together when the model is placed in heavily tilted positions, offering an unusual range of motion for an armored model.
The internal knee system supports strong flexions to reduce contact between different parts. The neck and shoulders also feature coordinated mechanisms to reproduce expressive poses while maintaining a natural silhouette.
The multi-colored runner design allows for the reproduction of the different areas of the EVA-01's armor directly during assembly, while the Realistic Decals allow for the addition of markings and finishing details.

Zone Gunpla Tips
The RG Evangelion Unit-01 offers a very different construction from a classic Gunpla. The numerous small internal articulations of the torso, shoulders, and legs require particular attention during assembly to maintain the full range of motion intended by Bandai Spirits.
Its great mobility then allows it to reproduce both standing poses and the much more animalistic and aggressive attitudes characteristic of the EVA-01. It naturally forms the central piece of a collection alongside the RG Evangelion Unit-00, Unit-02, and the other units in the line.
