The HG 1/144 ZGMF-2050A GOUF Ignited Custom by Bandai Spirits reproduces the new Mobile Suit appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO. Developed from the GOUF Ignited, this machine has been heavily customized by the Bronwell Corps, a rebel unit emerging from ZAFT, and is notably distinguished by its imposing shield integrating a Gatling gun.

The GOUF Ignited Custom retains the highly close-combat-oriented approach of the original ZGMF-2000 while adopting equipment specific to this unit. Its instantly recognizable silhouette is complemented by the Bronwell Corps markings, most notably the letter “B” visible on the machine.

A new GOUF designed for SEED FREEDOM ZERO

In Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, the ZGMF-2050A is an independent modification of the GOUF Ignited carried out by the Bronwell Corps. This rebel ZAFT faction adapts the machine to its own needs, giving rise to a version featuring an arsenal different from that of the variants previously encountered in Gundam SEED DESTINY.

Bandai Spirits reproduces this new appearance in High Grade 1/144 format, with the colors and equipment specific to the film version.

SEED Action System

The kit adopts the SEED Action System, the modern articulation structure developed for the new HGs from the Gundam SEED universe. This system allows for a wide range of motion while maintaining the characteristic proportions of the GOUF Ignited.

This mobility is particularly well-suited to the model's combat style, which relies heavily on melee attacks with its Beam Sword and Slayer Whips. The shoulders, torso, and limbs can be positioned dynamically to recreate much more natural attack poses.

Beam Sword with storage and extension mechanism

The Beam Sword is one of the GOUF Ignited Custom's main weapons. Bandai Spirits reproduces its storage and extension mechanism directly without the need to swap parts.

The weapon can thus transition from its compact configuration to its deployed position without having to replace the blade or use a second version of the equipment, enhancing the mechanical and interactive nature of the model.

Slayer Whips in two configurations

The iconic Slayer Whips are also present. The kit provides two different representations to vary combat scenes: a fully extended version and a curved version particularly suited for dynamic poses.

Bandai Spirits also reproduces their red-hot state directly through the molded plastic color. Therefore, it is not necessary to paint the whips to achieve this characteristic look.

A new functional Shield Gatling

The most distinctive element of the GOUF Ignited Custom is its imposing Shield Gatling. Unlike the shield used by classic GOUF Ignited units, this version directly integrates a Gatling gun, transforming the defensive equipment into a heavy weapon.

The model also reproduces the mechanical operation of this weapon: the Gatling barrels can rotate, allowing you to change their orientation and add more dynamism to shooting poses.

This combination of shield, automatic weapon, and close-combat equipment gives the GOUF Ignited Custom a distinct identity from the machines of Heine Westenfluss or Yzak Joule seen in Gundam SEED DESTINY.

An evolution of the GOUF Ignited

The GOUF Ignited belongs to the generation of Mobile Suits developed by ZAFT after the first war of the Cosmic Era. Originally designed as a high-performance machine specializing in close combat, it is primarily recognizable by its Slayer Whips and its Beam Sword.

The ZGMF-2050A GOUF Ignited Custom from SEED FREEDOM ZERO takes this base and transforms it into a machine unique to the Bronwell Corps, with a new arsenal and a specific visual identity.

About Gunpla and Plamo

Gunpla (Gundam Plastic Model) and Plamo (Plastic Model) refer to the famous Japanese assembly models, which have become an essential reference for model-making enthusiasts, science fiction fans, and Japanese culture aficionados. Popularized by Bandai's Mobile Suit Gundam license, Gunpla now includes hundreds of models inspired by the most emblematic Gundam series, films, and universes.

Beyond Gundam, the world of Plamo brings together many ranges produced by renowned manufacturers such as Bandai, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, Max Factory, Wave, and Aoshima. Robots, mechs, characters, creatures, vehicles, or original universes, Japanese model kits offer an assembly experience accessible to both beginners and experienced modelers.

Most modern kits are designed to be assembled without glue thanks to a high-precision snap-fit system. Depending on the range, models can also offer advanced articulation, interchangeable accessories, visual effects, decals, and numerous customization possibilities using paint, panel lining, or modeling tools.

Among the most popular ranges are Gunpla Gundam, the RG (Real Grade), MG (Master Grade), HG (High Grade), PG (Perfect Grade) series, but also the 30 Minutes Missions (30MM), 30 Minutes Fantasy (30MF), Figure-rise Standard, Moderoid, Frame Arms, Hexa Gear, Megami Device universes, and many other references from the world of Plamo.

Whether you're looking for your first Gunpla, a collectible Gundam model, or a more technical Japanese model kit, Plamo is a fascinating hobby that combines construction, creativity, collecting, and display through increasingly detailed and innovative models.

Gunpla & Plamo FAQ

Do you need glue to assemble a Gunpla?

Most modern Gunpla and Plamo are designed to be assembled without glue, thanks to an interlocking parts system.

Should you paint a Gunpla?

No. Bandai kits and most Japanese models are molded in colors close to the final rendering. Painting remains optional.

Which Gunpla should I choose to start with?

HG (High Grade) and Entry Grade lines are generally the most accessible for beginners assembling Gundam models.

What is the difference between HG, RG, MG, and PG?

Grades correspond to the level of detail, size, and complexity of the kit. HGs are the simplest, while PGs represent the most detailed models.

What is a Plamo?

The term Plamo is a contraction of "Plastic Model" in Japan. It encompasses Gundam Gunpla as well as many other models produced by Bandai, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, and other manufacturers.

How long does it take to build a Gunpla?

Depending on the model, assembly can take between one hour for an Entry Grade and several tens of hours for some Master Grade or Perfect Grade models.

What tools are recommended for assembly?

A hobby side cutter, a precision knife, and files or abrasives are the most commonly used tools to achieve a clean result.
