HGUC 1/144 - MSA-0011 (Ext) Ex-S Gundam

Discover the heavily equipped version of the S Gundam with the Gunpla HGUC 1/144 MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam from Bandai Spirits. From Gundam Sentinel, the Ex-S Gundam pushes the performance of the MSA-0011 even further with an impressive amount of additional equipment, thrusters, and weaponry.

Piloted by Ryou Roots and assisted by the artificial intelligence system A.L.I.C.E., the Ex-S Gundam is immediately distinguished by its enormous backpack, boosters, additional leg armor, and long Tail Stabilizer. This particularly dense silhouette makes it one of the most impressive Mobile Suits in the Gundam Sentinel universe.

Initially released in April 2002, this model bears the number HGUC 029. Bandai reproduces the complex proportions of the Ex-S Gundam in 1/144 scale while offering several movable elements, including the shoulder wings, leg Beam Cannons, and the Tail Stabilizer.

The main weapon is the spectacular Beam Smart Gun. This can be connected to the Mobile Suit via a Support Arm installed at the waist, thus reproducing its characteristic firing configuration. The weapon can also be stored on the backpack when not in use.

Two Beam Sabers complete the kit's equipment, while the numerous Beam Cannons integrated into the silhouette reinforce the Ex-S Gundam's appearance as a true mobile artillery platform.

Technical Specifications

The HGUC Ex-S Gundam uses the S Gundam as its base, adding its impressive additional equipment. The backpack features large boosters and several Beam Cannons, while the legs receive additional armor and propulsion elements.

The main body joints allow for various poses despite the model's significant volume. The shoulder wings, leg Beam Cannons, and Tail Stabilizer also have movable parts allowing the silhouette to be adjusted.

Unlike the Master Grade, this HGUC does not reproduce the complete transformation into G-Cruiser. Its design prioritizes the Mobile Suit's appearance and the ability to showcase its arsenal.

Gunpla Zone Tips

The HGUC MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam is an older kit, but its extremely busy silhouette and imposing backpack still give it an exceptional presence in 1/144 scale. However, it requires more space than a classic HGUC, especially with the Beam Smart Gun in firing position.

The numerous white surfaces and significant mechanical details are particularly suitable for panel lining and small paint touch-ups. The Beam Sabers of this generation are molded in a single color and will benefit from being painted for a more accurate rendering.
