MG 1/100 - RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type

The RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type joins the Master Grade line in a 1/100 scale MG version from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. Developed by the Earth Federation Forces for ground operations, this production Mobile Suit incorporates part of the Gundam Ground Type's design in a configuration intended for mass deployment.

This Master Grade version is distinguished by its extensive arsenal, allowing for the reproduction of numerous combat configurations seen in the universe of The 08th MS Team. The kit notably includes the long-range sniper rifle used by GM Sniper units, offering a particularly interesting option for varying the model's presentation.

The 100 mm Machine Gun is the primary armament for close-quarters ground combat. Its magazine is removable, its stock can be moved, and its foregrip is articulated. The kit also includes a Beam Rifle and a Missile Launcher for configurations more oriented towards support and firepower.

For close combat, the GM Ground Type features two Beam Sabers that can be stored in compartments located in the legs. Its shield can be attached to the forearm and allows for various defensive poses.

Despite its design dating back to the early 2000s, this Master Grade features an openable cockpit, internal mechanical details, and several types of hands allowing for varied poses. Its massive silhouette and characteristic military coloring also make it an excellent base for weathering enthusiasts and ground dioramas.

Zone Gunpla Tips

This Master Grade from 2001 uses an older design than modern MGs. When changing weapons or hands, we recommend manipulating the articulation points directly rather than forcing the ends of the parts.

The sand and orange coloring of the GM Ground Type lends itself particularly well to a military and realistic finish. Brown or grey panel lining, accompanied by light weathering on the legs, shield, and weapons, easily enhances its appearance as a unit engaged in the field.

With its numerous included weapons, this kit also makes an excellent base for creating a diorama inspired by The 08th MS Team or customizing different combat configurations without needing to purchase additional armament.
