RG 1/144 - Wing Gundam Zero

The legendary XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero joins the Real Grade lineup in this 1/144 scale RG version from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Completely redesigned with a new concept, this Gunpla reproduces the original TV series version and its imposing Wing Binders, not to be confused with the Wing Gundam Zero EW from Endless Waltz.

The two Wing Binders are one of the model's main highlights. Each features a five-axis articulation system allowing for a wide range of orientation adjustments. The internal thrusters also incorporate a mechanism combining unit rotation, nozzle extension, and fin deployment.

The Wing Gundam Zero can transform into Neo Bird Mode, its configuration for high-speed flight and long-distance travel. The transformation directly utilizes the model's various articulations and notably reproduces the modification of the feet, the repositioning of the legs, wings, and shield.

Its iconic armament is naturally present with the Twin Buster Rifle. The two rifles can be used separately or combined to form the imposing weapon characteristic of the Wing Zero. This RG version also adds a barrel extension mechanism to further accentuate their presence during firing poses.

The shield also benefits from several functions. Its front block can be extended, while the small wings incorporate a movable mechanism. In Neo Bird Mode, it forms the nose of the unit and houses the two separate parts of the Twin Buster Rifle.

The many body articulations finally allow for particularly natural poses. The hips have several movable axes, the knee and shin armors automatically accompany the movement of the legs, and the shoulders can open to reveal the thrusters and the storage locations for the Beam Sabers.

Gunpla Zone Tips

The Wing Gundam Zero has many movable mechanisms and intricate articulations. When transforming into Neo Bird Mode or deploying the Wing Binders, manipulate the elements directly at their articulations rather than at the tips of the wings to avoid unnecessary stress.

The Twin Buster Rifle is particularly imposing for a 1/144 scale model. The hand locking system improves its hold, but take the time to properly position the shoulders, wrists, and torso to correctly distribute the weight during firing poses.

The many mechanical details and color changes specific to the Real Grade line stand out very well with light panel lining. The included Realistic Decals then enhance the level of detail while preserving the characteristic aesthetic of the Wing Gundam Zero.
