Discover the famous mass-produced Mobile Suit from the Principality of Zeon with the Gunpla MG 1/100 MS-06F/J Zaku II “ONE YEAR WAR 0079” Color Ver. by Bandai Spirits. This special edition, released in 2005, accompanies the PlayStation 2 game Mobile Suit Gundam: The One Year War and features the colors used for the Zaku II in that adaptation.

This version should not be confused with the Zaku II Ver.2.0 released several years later. It is based on the original 1995 MG MS-06F/J Zaku II, historical MG 003 reference, with a new, softer, and more realistic color palette inspired by the video game's rendering.

The kit allows you to reproduce both the MS-06F Zaku II for space operations and the MS-06J adapted for ground combat. Different parts and options allow you to choose the desired configuration during assembly.

Its construction incorporates the characteristics of the first generation Master Grades, with several mechanical elements visible under the armor, a movable mono-eye, opening panels on certain body parts, and a wide choice of weapons and accessories.

The "ONE YEAR WAR 0079" edition is primarily distinguished by its lighter and less saturated green hue than that of the original MG, as well as by more subdued colors on the weapons and various mechanical parts. This finish allows for an appearance close to the model presented in the game immediately after assembly.

Technical Specifications

The MG MS-06F/J Zaku II ONE YEAR WAR 0079 completely adopts the structure of the original MG released in 1995. Its main difference lies in its reworked colors, specially chosen to match the appearance of the Zaku II in the game Mobile Suit Gundam: The One Year War.

Gunpla Zone Tips

This edition is particularly interesting for collectors seeking a historical and different version of the Zaku II MG. It should be kept in mind that it uses the design of the 1995 MG: its joints and structure are therefore significantly older than those of the Zaku II Ver.2.0.

However, its specific "ONE YEAR WAR 0079" colors give it a particularly successful appearance right after assembly. The numerous weapons, the F/J configuration possibilities, and the large armor surfaces also make it an excellent base for panel lining, decals, and weathering.
