RX-160G Byarlant Isolde

RX-160G Byarlant Isolde

The RX-160G Byarlant Isolde is a variant of the RX-160 Byarlant introduced in

the Novel/ONA series Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight Axis and is piloted by Walter Fermo.

Features

A customized version of the RX-160 Byarlant, the Byarlant Isolde belonged to the mysterious armed group "Birnam" which attacked the Earth Federation special corps "Mastema" near the former Axis asteroid base in UC 0096. The Byarlant Isolde retained the three-fingered claws of the original Byarlant and also features two new rear-mounted propulsion/propeller units, similar to those used by the RX-160S Byarlant Custom.

  • Thrusters/Tanks

The booster is a combination of large fuel tanks and rocket boosters. It provides additional fuel for longer deployment times and greatly improves the acceleration and agility of the Byarlant Isolde. A pair is fitted to both sides of the Byarlant Isolde's rear thrusters.

Armaments

  • Mega Particle Gun: A rapid-fire ranged armament installed in the palms of the Byarlant Isolde.
  • Beam Saber: Similar to those used by the Byarlant, the Byarlant Isolde has a pair of beam-type sabers stored in the upper arms (near the elbow joints), which can be drawn during combat. The saber handles have a triangular section that matches the clawed hands of the machine.

History

The Mobile Suit will be used during the Twilight Axis conflict, the pilot will fight against his brother with the Byarlant Isolde

Notes and fun facts

  • The Byarlant Isolde is named after Isolde from the 12th century Anglo-Norman mythological tale, Tristan and Isolde.
  • The name "Isolde" is used for the Minerva Cannons in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.
