HGUC 1/144 - YMS-15 Gyan

The HGUC 1/144 YMS-15 Gyan is a Bandai Spirits Gunpla from Mobile Suit Gundam. Piloted by M’Quve, this prototype mobile suit from the Principality of Zeon is distinguished by its knight-inspired appearance, light blue armor, and combat style entirely focused on close-quarters combat.

This High Grade Universal Century version at 1/144 scale corresponds to the modernized edition of the Gyan released in the REVIVE line. It offers re-engineered proportions and improved articulation while retaining the elegant and immediately recognizable silhouette of the original mobile suit.

The helmet-shaped head, rounded shoulders, narrow torso, and large flared legs reinforce its space knight aesthetic. The model's blue and purple color scheme contrasts with the red and gold hues of its Shield, giving the Gyan a unique visual identity among Zeon units.

The kit's design uses several double joints in the arms and legs. This mobility allows for more natural dueling stances, fencing movements, and deep attacks with the Beam Saber.

The right wrist also has a specific articulation that facilitates weapon movements. The Gyan can thus hold its Beam Saber in different orientations and reproduce the famous thrust attacks used during its confrontation against the Gundam.

The Beam Saber blade is reproduced using a transparent yellow part. Its length and slender shape perfectly highlight the Gyan's precise and elegant fighting style, very different from the more brutal attacks of many other Zeon mobile suits.

The model also includes its iconic Missile Shield. This circular equipment combines a defensive function with the Needle Missiles and Hide Bombs integrated into its structure, while its detailed color separation effectively reproduces the red, yellow, and dark parts of the original design.

The mobility of the head, shoulders, hips, and ankles facilitates the creation of dynamic poses despite the armor's particular shapes. The model can thus be displayed in a guard position, preparing an attack, or engaged in a duel with its Shield placed in front of the body.
