The HG 1/144 ARK-10 Gundam Helix from Bandai Spirits brings the main Mobile Suit from GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, a new Gundam action game developed by Bandai Namco Studios, to life as a Gunpla. Piloted by RE-X and accompanied by the intelligent Haro unit Vii, the Gundam Helix is at the heart of a new universe where humanity faces a mysterious threat known as Apocalypse.

This version is the standard model sold separately of the Gundam Helix, distinct from the HG 1/144 Gundam Helix Earth Blue Ver. offered exclusively with the Collector's Edition of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT.

The main Mobile Suit of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT

The ARK-10 Gundam Helix is the machine piloted by RE-X throughout the adventure. In the game, the Helix is designed around an extensive customization system that allows the player to modify its weapons, chassis parts, thrusters, colors, and various equipment to adapt the machine to their own combat style.

This philosophy is directly transcribed into the Gunpla line: Bandai Spirits has designed the Gundam Helix to be customized with other models from GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, allowing you to physically recreate part of the customization system offered in the game.

Articulation developed to replicate the game's movements

Bandai Spirits particularly highlights the wide range of articulation of the Gundam Helix. The HG structure has been developed to replicate the fluid and rapid movements observed in GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, where the Mobile Suit performs dynamic ground maneuvers, aerial combat, and close-quarters engagements.

The model thus allows for very wide combat poses while maintaining the massive and mechanical silhouette characteristic of the Helix.

Deployable flaps on the arms and legs

The design of the Gundam Helix incorporates several movable flaps on the arms and legs. These mechanical panels can be opened independently to change the appearance of the model and replicate the deployed configurations visible in the game.

These elements enhance the technical character of the Mobile Suit and provide more variation when displaying the model, particularly in poses representing acceleration or intense combat phases.

A Sword reproduced in two forms

The primary close-quarters weapon of the Gundam Helix is an imposing Sword. The kit allows it to be displayed in two different forms, offering several configurations depending on the type of pose desired.

This weapon strongly contributes to the identity of the Gundam Helix, whose gameplay specifically emphasizes fast and aggressive close-quarters attacks.

Rifle for ranged combat

The Helix also features a Rifle intended for medium and long-range engagements. It can be used in conjunction with the Sword to represent the versatile combat style of RE-X's machine.

Bandai Spirits has also provided for weapon storage directly on the model: the Sword and Rifle can be attached to the backpack when not in use.

Backpack and weapon storage system

The backpack therefore plays a dual role in the design of the Gundam Helix. It contributes to the silhouette and mobility capabilities of the machine while serving as a storage point for its main weapons.

This feature allows the Gundam Helix to be displayed with its hands free without having to set the accessories aside, and offers several display configurations depending on whether the machine is depicted in motion, on standby, or in the heat of battle.

A line designed for customization

One of the most interesting features of the HG Gundam Helix lies in its compatibility with other GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT Gunpla. Bandai Spirits explicitly states that different models in the line can be combined to reproduce the customization principle of the video game.

This approach specifically allows the use of equipment from other Mobile Suits like the Calice or the Bau Bahlam to develop your own physical configurations of the Gundam Helix.

A standard version different from the Earth Blue Ver.

The Gundam Helix also exists as a special Earth Blue Ver. edition, included exclusively in the Collector's Edition of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT. This variant features a special color also offered as a customization option in the game.

This model corresponds to the standard HG version intended for general sale, allowing you to add the Gundam Helix to a Gunpla collection independently of purchasing the Collector's Edition of the game.

About Gunpla and Plamo

Gunpla (Gundam Plastic Model) and Plamo (Plastic Model) refer to the famous Japanese assembly models, which have become an essential reference for model-making enthusiasts, science fiction fans, and Japanese culture aficionados. Popularized by Bandai's Mobile Suit Gundam license, Gunpla now includes hundreds of models inspired by the most emblematic Gundam series, films, and universes.

Beyond Gundam, the world of Plamo brings together many ranges produced by renowned manufacturers such as Bandai, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, Max Factory, Wave, and Aoshima. Robots, mechs, characters, creatures, vehicles, or original universes, Japanese model kits offer an assembly experience accessible to both beginners and experienced modelers.

Most modern kits are designed to be assembled without glue thanks to a high-precision snap-fit system. Depending on the range, models can also offer advanced articulation, interchangeable accessories, visual effects, decals, and numerous customization possibilities using paint, panel lining, or modeling tools.

Among the most popular ranges are Gunpla Gundam, the RG (Real Grade), MG (Master Grade), HG (High Grade), PG (Perfect Grade) series, but also the 30 Minutes Missions (30MM), 30 Minutes Fantasy (30MF), Figure-rise Standard, Moderoid, Frame Arms, Hexa Gear, Megami Device universes, and many other references from the world of Plamo.

Whether you're looking for your first Gunpla, a collectible Gundam model, or a more technical Japanese model kit, Plamo is a fascinating hobby that combines construction, creativity, collecting, and display through increasingly detailed and innovative models.

Gunpla & Plamo FAQ

Do you need glue to assemble a Gunpla?

Most modern Gunpla and Plamo are designed to be assembled without glue, thanks to an interlocking parts system.

Should you paint a Gunpla?

No. Bandai kits and most Japanese models are molded in colors close to the final rendering. Painting remains optional.

Which Gunpla should I choose to start with?

HG (High Grade) and Entry Grade lines are generally the most accessible for beginners assembling Gundam models.

What is the difference between HG, RG, MG, and PG?

Grades correspond to the level of detail, size, and complexity of the kit. HGs are the simplest, while PGs represent the most detailed models.

What is a Plamo?

The term Plamo is a contraction of "Plastic Model" in Japan. It encompasses Gundam Gunpla as well as many other models produced by Bandai, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, and other manufacturers.

How long does it take to build a Gunpla?

Depending on the model, assembly can take between one hour for an Entry Grade and several tens of hours for some Master Grade or Perfect Grade models.

What tools are recommended for assembly?

A hobby side cutter, a precision knife, and files or abrasives are the most commonly used tools to achieve a clean result.
